Meet at Praia do Malhão for a two-hour SurfMilfontes lesson with board, wetsuit, leash, insurance, and beach transport if needed. After 20 to 30 minutes of theory and warm-up, you spend about 90 minutes practicing. Groups are split by ability, with instructors such as Antonio, Miguel, Eric, and Alfonso offering close guidance.

Meet in Praia de Carvoeiro for a roughly three-hour private surf lesson with Duarte and the King Neptunos team. You’ll travel to Bordeira Beach, practice on the sand, then work on catching waves with a board, wetsuit, transport, and insurance included. The beach may change with sea conditions.
“Neptunos is a surf school with the emphasis on teaching. If you want to learn to surf with a view to taking up surfing as your main sport or pastime, this is a good place to start. However, if you and your family would like to try surfing for a bit of fun, you may want to try a different school as Neptunos is quite strict and inflexible. Also important to note, no drinks or snacks provided so take your own and the cafe at the beach only accepts cash - no cards.”
At Praia da Rocha, you get a 90-minute surf lesson with a maximum of five students per instructor. Filipa, Dinis, Paolo, Francisco, and other certified instructors teach warm-ups, beach technique, safety, and wave riding in Portuguese or English. Equipment and wetsuit are included.
