SURF LESSONS IN MOROCCO
The good surf lessons in Morocco fill weeks ahead and the great ones go first. Below: the 9 to book early, what each includes and how they differ.
Spend two hours learning to surf on Essaouira Bay with instructors such as Ismail, Tahir, and Zakaria. Your session includes a wetsuit, board, beach instruction, water practice, a locker, and a hot shower. Small-group and private lessons are available in Arabic, English, or French.

Learn to surf near Taghazout with instructors including Youssef, Ussef, Hussein, and Sami. Choose a two-hour lesson or a longer day with hotel pickup, wetsuit, board, beach lunch, and a second supervised session. Small groups keep the coaching personal.
“Amazing day! We did the full day, first half is looking for a good spot and then followed by a quick warm up (fun) and basic steps on how to surf! Instructors are with you and help you, we managed to get standing and riding waves within in 30 minutes. Lunch was a sandwich and fruit which was very nice (cafe close by if not your thing). Second half of the day the instructors just let you go on your own, but they seen the group was struggling to get the waves as the see was abit flat, and they quickly came running down and guided everyone from the beach…”
Meet Essaouira Watersports at 10 Av. Princesse Lalla Amina for a two-hour beginner lesson near the beach. You’ll warm up, learn the take-off, practice catching waves, and surf with an instructor such as Ayoub, Wassim, Anas, Rachid, or Mehdi.

Meet Othman or a member of his team at Agadir Beach, near Les Dunes d’Or Hotel, for a two-hour beginner lesson. You’ll warm up, practise standing on the sand, then surf knee-to-waist-deep whitewater with a coach nearby. Boards and wetsuits are included.

From the beginning till the end he was always next to us, watching us, and making sure to tell us what we are doing wrong and how to improve, he spoke perfect English. And he is really kind. Meet Explora Watersports on Boulevard Mohamed V for a two-hour lesson on Essaouira Beach. Your instructor provides a wetsuit, board, and coaching in English, French, Spanish, or Arabic, from first pop-up to more polished wave skills.

Spend 150 minutes learning to surf near Taghazout with local instructors such as Mohammed, Abdellah, and Jamal. You’ll get equipment, safety coaching, transport to suitable nearby spots, and patient help with paddling, board control, and catching your first waves.

Meet Swell Surf Morocco at Agadir Beach for a two-hour lesson suited to beginners and intermediate surfers. Your instructor covers warm-ups, beach practice, and ocean time, with boards and wetsuits provided. Hotel pickup is offered, and instructor Anas, known as Shark, may lead the session.

Spend about six and a half hours surfing near Agadir with Shaka Surf Morocco. You’ll search for a suitable beach, take a 2.5-hour lesson in a group of no more than four, eat a packed picnic lunch, then practice during a supervised free-surf session.
